Help Does the new gmail update for notifications work on the note 2?

well, the good thing about trying to fix the gmail thing is i found out how to bring back the sync toggle on the notification panel
 
apparently the app developer issued an update so light flow should be fine now.

but the notification thing still isn't working for me.
 
I don't see anything different in the Notification on my Note II with the gmail update - any specific setting changes needed?
 
Strange, I just have to pull down the notification bar and below the email preview, there's the option to archive or reply - you don't have that?

I do have the option to delete or reply (I think it's delete on mine and not archive because I've changed my options in the gmail app so that swiping deletes instead of archive) but only After I expand the notification with the gesture mentioned above (that I didn't know about until I read this thread.)

Is there a good resource for all these jellybean changes?
