Does the Note 3 S-View case have an extra glass/plastic window in it?

What's the deal with that viewing space in the S-View case? Is that another piece of glass/Plastic that goes over the screen or is it just an empty space that somehow changes what's on the main screen when it's closed?

It's a hole in the case, and the information is on the main screen. I'm still not sure how the phone knows that the hole is there to display the S-view information, but it does.

Two different covers for two different kinds of users: I prefer the S-View cover so I can just look at the phone and see the time/weather/etc. without opening it up or turning it on.

And it's all good :)

Any idea how it works while taking a call? Do you have to flip it open to take a call? I assume that you would want to flip it open to make a call.

In the video you can clearly see when he flips it over the case DOES have some kind of piece of plastic on it.

Just like the S view for the S4

That changes things. I guess I can live with the extra screen protection. I just realized thouh that the folio style cases will work best for me when I'm in sort of formal wear you know, going for job interviews, weddings and things like that, Just forr running around and my current job in which I wear a uniform I think I'll get one of those HHI cases mentioned in the Note 3 accessories thread. I love having a kickstand for media viewing.
