Doesn't work with Cassette adapter?

[cruxd]

Hi All, I am a newbie to Android and the Nexus 5 is my first Android device. I just got the device yesterday and connected it to my car's cassette player using the monster icarplay cassette adapter. I get no music though. I tested with an iphone 5 and the adapter is working fine. I also checked with a earphone on the Nexus 5 and that works fine too. Am I missing something here?

Not really sure. The volume is up on the N5? That's the only thing I can think of to check.

I've used mine a bunch and it works fine with a cassette adapter.

Thanks! I am not sure what is going on either. The volume is all the way up. But I just hear static.
