Dolphin Browser constantly reloading pages?

tuftslax

Newbie
I have a rooted Droid X running the original 2.2 leak and have been using Dolphin Browser HD since I got it. Lately I noticed every time I go back to the browser after "minimizing" it, it reloads the pages that were open. Now, I could be completely crazy and it could have been doing this the entire time I've used it but I feel like this is something new. It's quite annoying actually, as I have to wait every time I pull the browser back up. I can't point at anything that recently changed that could have affected it, I even uninstalled and reinstalled it to try and fix it but to no avail.

Am I the only one this happens to? Am I crazy and it has been happening the whole time and I only just noticed it? When is the droid x 2.2 official OTA coming out!!!!????

I've noticed that behavior as well. Install the new 3.0 update and see if it corrects the problem. The update has a ton of fixes related to froyo.

Tried it, I have the latest version. As a matter of fact, maybe the updated version could be what is causing the problem and might be the change I made that I didn't realize.

I guess no one else seem's to have this problem. Its become extremely annoying, especially when browsing on 3g and trying to multi-task.

I am having the same problem - I just a new replacement phone so its just running stock unrooted 2.1 now. I dont know if its the browser or something else but I think I am going to try to find an alternative browser unless someone has a better idea

Yeah that happened to me a long while back and i just gave up on it entirely.

Same thing here. Been happening for a long time. I just figured it was a low memory thing and that's how it worked.

I guess other browsers don't do this then?

Im using dolphin mini and its doing it to me. If I wanted my pages to reload I'd use my iPhone 3G. Also...how do I get a homepage?

To get to your homepage, click on the icon to the left of the address entry area. The icon looks like a... home. You can set the home page to either be the New Tab Page or an individual home page. To do so, click on Menu->More->Settings->Dolphin Settings->Set Home Page.

BTW, I've never had Dolphin reload pages unnecessarily.

Doesn't give me that option in dolphin mini browser. I click on menu and there's no "more" option.

I always figured it was supposed to do that, even the stock browser does it I think. I have no idea why though...and it is actually quite annoying...hmmm

Ive never had thos happen with the stock browser

Xscope is doing the same thing for me.

AFAIK Dolphin and xScope are both built off of the stock browser. So it would make sense for them to have the same behavior. If it's not doing it for you IOWA, then you are lucky :P But I've had the problem pretty much forever. It's like the phone refuses to store your current tabs in memory and instead just reloads the pages.
