Dolphin browser doesn't remember login/password for a site

Hello

I just reinstalled Dolphin (10.2.6) after upgrading Cyanogenmod.

I notice that it doesn't remember, ie. pre-fill, the login/password for a given site, while it works OK for others.

I went through its configuation menus, but didn't find much.

Has someone experienced the same thing? What could I try?

Thank you.

A browser "Remembers" the login/password by the cookie the site sends. Either you're telling it to not save cookies from that site, or the site isn't sending a login cookie when asked to. If it's your setting, you can change it. If it's the site, emailing the webmaster may do some good or it may not.

Thanks, but it's not what it is: It worked fine with Dolphin before I upgraded Cyanogenmod (and had to wipe the cache/data to get around a bug.) It also works fine for other sites. Chrome works fine too.

So it's Dolphin not saving login/passwords, although I left the default options "Remember Passwords/Form Data" to On.

Uninstalling, reinstalling Dolphin doesn't solve the problem.

It's very annoying to have to copy/paste login + password every time from a text file :-/

Sites can specifically turn autocomplete off in certain fields, and if the browser honors that instruction it won't save the information. The only browser I've ever known to ignore this on password fields is Opera. However, I've used Chrome (on the desktop) to edit the local copy of the site's code to allow autocomplete, then it saves the password. Once saved, Chrome then uses the saved info each time I visit the site.

I don't know why it would suddenly stop working with a re-install, unless the site happened to change their code at the same time. It might be work visiting the site from a desktop using Chrome and right-click on the field and select Inspect Element to see if autocomplete is turned off.

It works OK when browsing from a PC, and I don't exit Dolphin; I just leave it running.

I found a work-around with the free Dolphin Password Manager Lite. It was easier to have the browser pre-fill the login/password fielsd and only hit OK to log on, but it's good enough.

Thanks all.

Unfortunately, the Dolphin Password Manager Lite only supports three accounts. Google PlayStore doesn't mention the Full/Pro version which would support more passwords.

Google reports very few other users having this issue of Dolphin not offering to remember passwords, although Dolphin is a very popular browser for the Android platform, and I used the default settings ("Remember passwords" is enabled by default.)

Strange:confused:

FWIW, I notice that both Maxthon and Dolphin have the issue, while Chrome does remember the login + password.

I don't understand why Dolphin stopped doing this after upgrading Cyanogenmod. Now, I have to juggle between Dolphin (for sites that don't require logons) and Chrome (for those that do), since I find Dolphin a better application.

The joys of software :-/

I have kk and note 3. I have same problem and I am not rooted. Dolphin used to work great but all of a sudden won't save passwords/logins like chrome. So frustrating!

Dolphin was recently updated, if something breaks or does not work the way you expect on your device then you need to get in touch with Dolphin's developer/support group via email/bug report/app contact.

In the meantime, if all of a sudden an app stops working then you need to -

1. Make sure the app is updated.
2. Clear the app data cache.
3. Reboot.
4. File bug report.
