dolphin browser slow text entry ?

Hi all
Thought this issue was down to my keyboard app but have been using it in opera last few days and was ok.
Then as soon as back in DHD it starts running slowly again.
I'm on desire with 2.2

Anyone else seen this?

Cheers
Dan

Dolphin is just slow period. I uninstalled it a while ago. I surf on opera mini and use skyfire when I want to watch videos. Don't see a need for Dolphin at all.

My text input was very slow at times when using Dolphin HD. Just uninstalled and am trying out Xscope 6.

What's xscope like?
Can it focus on text boxes?

Not sure what you mean by focus. I can click on a box and then enter text in it.

So far I am really liking the simple features Xscope 6 has.

There is a free trial version in the market. Try it out.

hi
I meant that with browsers other than opera mobile when the keyboard opens the text box shoots out of view :-(

Hi
This is from xscope :-) looks pretty light and quick
And it does focus on text boxes correctly :-)
Cool thanks
Dan

I used Dolphin, Opera, Skyfire, and concluded that all are with their unique issues.

Dolphin, besides being incredibly slow, was great because websites recognize the dolphin browser and automatically upload the mobile version of their site. Plus I liked their swipe app.

Skyfire was nice but is not recognized by many websites as a mobile browser. Thus I have had to constantly resize the screen which is tedious. In addition, I didn't care for the Facebook+other buttons at the bottom, or the little advertisements.

Opera in my opinion was the best in terms of speed and usability. The only issue again was that websites don't recognize the browser. I hope this changes as it gains in popularity.

Interestingly, I found myself reverting back to the stock browser, which handles multi-tabs, is recognized by websites as a mobile browser, and is nimble.

Hi
Yes I'm tending to switch between them at the moment :-)
Was it opera mini or mobile that you used?

Text box focusing is the hugest issue on my desire with most browsers
Xscope does quite well. Opera mobile is best but is worst for link selecting etc

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the tip. I am using Opera Mobile, the 22mb program. On the Opera website, they state that there is a potential for pages to appear irregularly when using Opera Mini. Mini is supposed to be for phones that can't support the full version, either because they are not robust enough, and/or simply older phones.

When visiting a website using Mini, the site sends the data to Opera's servers, then Opera sends their rendition of the page to your phone. I imagine this potentially decreases speed and responsiveness.

With the full Opera, the pages are downloaded directly to your handheld.

I didn't notice the speed when clicking links; I should play with that.

I use Opera Mini on my Captivate and think it's superfast. The time it takes the server to compress and send to your phone is practically unnoticeable, at least to me. I've been using Mini since my WinMo days.
