DON'T BUY THIS PHONE

trvesty

Lurker
If you're someone who's thinking about buying this phone; STOP! This phone has given me nothing but trouble. It's so slow, the camera is horrible & touch wiz looks horrible on the device. This phone is the main reason I've decided to leave Android & go with iOS. It's just horrible.

OK.

$150 phone, $50 after rebate, so Android sucks. Got it.

Got a link for any $50 iPhones at new retail?

Rotf! :D

Actually I don't care about the price of the iPhone, I just moved here and need something to hold me over that's the reason I bought this. I actually love android, I never said it sucked. I said the phone did, thank you. The phone sucks, I don't care what anyone has to say about how good it is.

That phone itself is good, its crapsungs software that makes it horrible, root and put cm12 and you'll love it (personal experience)

I actually love CM12, I have it on another one of my phones that I use for gaming because this phone is to slow for it. Maybe if the phone had CM12 or Android L, I'd probably reconsider. But due to the low population of people who have this I don't think we'll ever see CM12

You missed the point entirely but no matter.

Welcome to the forums, good luck with whatever you decide.

Well can you explain to me the point
You can only improve a phone to the limits of its hardware with another rom.

Compared to modern iPhones, all budget phones will lag severely, no matter what you do.

Get comparable hardware to an iPhone, lose TouchWiz and then watch a fair comparison.

If iOS is still the one for you, great. We vote with our wallets and that's the way it ought to always be - none of these companies are our friends. Get what YOU like.

At least then however you're not comparing apples to oranges when the hardware playing field is level.

I use an M8. It's FAR from laggy. This spring even faster models are coming out.

I think that iPhones have too much design lag, starting with the one button - makes about as much sense to me as a one button mouse, along with having to go outside apps to get to settings - design lag. But - that's just my opinion and so I chose my preference.

You know what you're right, maybe I'll try an M8 or S5 before switching, thank you.

Speaking of CM12, is it fully functioning on the GL? Like you I like the phone, mine is rooted and with xposed and Wanam installed it pretty smooth.

Its OK, few flaws here and there but I use it as a daily driver, calls aren't fully functional yet(I think the audio is broken)
Also don't see anything NFC related in settings
