Help Dont wanna use the power button..

i was gonna say... who has a phone that long anyway? lol
People who can't afford to pay out of pocket for a phone after a year?

And onto my standard rant. If they make me sign a 2 year contract to buy the phone, why does the warranty last only 1 year? If they aren't willing to guaranty the phone will last 2 years, why are they making me guaranty I'll buy 2 years of service for the phone?

if you cant afford a higher end phone, why would it matter to you anyway?

ill sell my current razr in a few months and pay verizon 200-300 depending and break even. it all works out!

I find this comment to be unnecessary and quite rude.

And how exactly am I suppose to get a new phone for $200-$300 in the middle of my contract? If you can and do upgrade your phone every couple months fine, I don't care. Don't assume everybody can or chooses to.

Did anyone find a solution to this?

I use Power button to end my calls quickly.

I'd like to be able to use Volume up/down buttons to wake up my Razr Maxx during a lengthy call, instead of the Power button.

Any advice?

I do the same thing. I got the iphone 4 for a 2year subsidized price of $199. One year into contract I just sold it for $250. Bought razr full price minus $250. Contract up early December, and probably will be able to sell for $300, which will pay for the upgrade phone. One way to stay relatively ahead is to always buy an iphone under contract, because it always has a higher resale value than what you paid for it, one year later. Plus the next iphone will be like the 4s where it will have both cdma/gsm, and verizon will unlock gsm side, making it retain its value. Always some apple fan boy that will shell out good money for a used iphone.

I think a recent update negated all types of "screen off and lock" apps from working on the Razr Maxx! I just tried a combo of No Lock and Screen Off and Lock, and still got the lock splash screen, instead of the screen going off. If anyone finds an app that will completely put the Maxx to sleep, with no splash screen, please post it!

If your power button stops working, which it likely won't. Then call Verizon and get a replacement as that's a hardware defect

My power button did fail near the end of the two year period using the original Droid phone. It was so annoying, phone was useless when I had to press two or three times to sleep or wake. Then I had the sliding keyboard as a backup power button. Now we have nothing on Droid RAZR. Cannot even pull battery which could do a power cycle for some phones. I have heard other power button problems as well, you know 100-200 presses a day would wear out most switches... Hopefully a failure like this would result in a replacement phone or early upgrade if it happens again.

My power button is acting kind of funny as well... Its really loose and seems to stick which shuts off my phone. It no longer makes a clicking feeling. I am thinking of taking my phone apart and replacing the key or would I even have to? Is there something else that is fixable?
