Dotted Screen - How are you dealing with yours?

The iphone does have these lines as well also the angle to see them is a lot "steeper". I've had a few iphones (don't shoot me) and they all had them. I've seen them on my nexus one as well but only when you're trying to look for them. Not really a factor for me.
 
I think you guys are crazy. I've held my phone at every possible angle with light reflecting off it, and its nothing but smooth class. You can barely notice the touch grid, unlike the G1 which you could see that much easier. But definately no dots.

I also dont see any pixelation. Screen is crystal clear, and very smooth. I did notice that Handcent SMS has an update that includes a high resolution icon for the droid and nexus, so some apps might have icons that wont look very smooth on an HD screen.
 
It's not pixelation, and it's not the crosses per the HD2. I'll have to take a picture. At least I'm the only one. It seems to be almost like a chainlink pattern.

This is the Omnia II. It looks to have the same kinda thing. Warning this image is LARGE. Note when zoomed in the chainlink pattern around the G-Mail icon. Not a grid. Not crosses. Not pixels. I can see this exact same thing on my N1. At least now I'm thinking it might be a very-hard-to-see attribute to AMOLED's that maybe I happened to notice.

I know what I'm seeing here ;)
 
My dare with a resistive touch screen had the point grid on it, but the nexus is capacitive, it shouldn't have that since the sensor is under the glass and led.

Ahhhhhhh I gotcha. Yeah I noticed that too when I first got it and I figured that was the nature of AMOLED's. I dont notice it anymore because I have set my brightness to auto, and it's not as bright as it was before. When I hit the brightness widget it gets brighter and I can notice it much more.

Ok awesome, I'm really glad someone else had noticed it as well; I was starting to think something was wrong with my baby!
 
The behold 2 has something similar where you can see faint lines across the screen. I believe it has something to do with AMOLED screens in general.

Hmm.. might have to stay away from AMOLED then. I've had a real problem reading small text on the phone not because of the size, but because of the grainyness that this attribute puts on small text. Not sure what to do, I have a week and a day to figure it out before I get the Google/T-Mo double whammy.
 
I don't think it has anything to do with AMOLED. My mp3 player has an AMOLED display and it doesn't have lines or anything across it.

Okay, benefit of the doubt. I opened up the picture again. Zoomed in on the Google Mail button. Tilted my head. The grainy-ness is pixelation. But if it's something above the pixels, I'm not seeing it. It might just be in your head. Maybe take the pic that you linked and circle what you're seeing.

Check this link. Note the photo, it's not pixelated since theborders of the phone are smooth. Now.. check the L in WLAN. See the bottom? It's not a straight line? It's jagged, almost as if there's a pattern over it. It's not a grid either, almost like it has zipper teeth? If it were the pixel grid I was seeing, the bottom of this letter would be flat, yes? These are the things I'm seeing on the N1. Note the non-screen parts of the photo. This will tell you that this is NOT the pixel grid. I believe this is an AMOLED thing. I don't know though. Doing a side by side of my friends Droid, looking at the clock on the lock screen (which was identical), it was an immidiate difference, both that my N1 had better colors and contrast, and that the Droid did not have this artifacting.

Coupled with the portrait mode lines which have already been noted, I gotta say this phone's screen is down right disappointing. I'm not sure if I'm even going to keep it, small text is barely legible. We shall see.
