Double tap 'back' to exit the app, no thanks!

YES! and so much YES!
Not only that app, but I think I have about 2 or 3 other apps that I use, prompt me to hit the back button twice.
As if I wasn't sure if I wanted to exit, sheesh!

Trying desperately to ditch ES due to their recent.. crappiness. I just can't figure out the FTP plug-in. The support forums are a ghost town.

There is also a shade of distrust over es file explorer if you search past threads...I would find another file explorer, either solid or xplore are popular. I like solid

It should just be a setting. I know some users prefer it that way. In most cases it handles backing a folder fine because of the navigational history. ... Which is fine. At the end of the folder history I wish it would just close vs request another back.

I have a news reading app that requires double tap to exit, it's actually very useful to me.

"this app is perfect for me"... What app are you referring to? I don't see a link or a name. However when I want to exit any app I simply close it/move it out from the recent apps drawer.

I long ago customised my phone so a long press on back exits the current app. Occasionally useful when an app hangs, otherwise I don't have much need for exiting an app anyway.

I like it. And I don't. My back button needs to be able to read my mind... sometimes I want to back up a page sometimes I want to close the app. Depending on my mood.

I don't get it :goofydroid:lol Why not just move whatever app you want to close/exit/quit out of "Recent Apps"...it's simpler and no clicking or backing out required.

EDIT: Ok I just thought of something...you're talking about "phones" here and I have a tablet, so maybe your phones don't have that "Recent Apps" feature..idk.
