Double Text messages

I keep on getting double text messages on my Galaxy S3. anyone know how to stop this happening please?

Are you using a non stock messaging app like Handcent or Chomp? If so you will get double notifications if you didn't turn off the stock messaging notifications. Open the stock Messaging app / Menu key / Settings / uncheck Notifications.

If it's not notifications and you are getting duplicate messages, that sounds like a carrier issue. Contact your carrier and explain whats happening.

I tried this with a galaxy s3 with new 4.3 update, when I disable notifications on the stock app, i get no sound or led light notifications with handcent.

any ideas?

nevermind, I went into stock message and handcent apps, cleared cache and data on both...working now.
