Two important things about the porting:

Porting from other Sprint MVNOs like Virgin Mobile or Ting doesn't qualify, and you must port at a Boost Mobile store not online.

For new customers that's a great deal.

Give it time. Who else offers $30 /month with 2GB data on LTE ?

Metro gives you for $30 1GB data on only 4G (no LTE)
Cricket gives you for $35 2.5GB data (Boost's old plan)

Man I would Love this. I have the 10GB plan and I can usually manage to not get throttled by the strategic use of public Wi-Fi but with 20GB I could watch more Netflix at home.

Theoretically speaking,

If one had a good standing account, and called customer care, and spoke to a live rep,
then asked for their account number (sparks their interest) and the rep was on it, and asked why (wait for them) then you simply told them you love Boost, but need to swap their account out to another carrier, to swap it back, just to get the Double Data plan. Maybe the rep might send you to another rep (who may tell you this is a one time deal, and may offer you the Double data 45 or 55 plan)

All I can say.
My 20GB waits for me the start of next billing month.

Didn't work for me. Guy seemed like he'd heard this to many times.
