Help Downgrade from 4.2.2 to 4.1.2

Hi all. Did some searching here and on Google but can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking for.

Decided that I'd like to go back to 4.1.2 from 4.2.2 but I don't have a full backup to do so. My phone is a K2_CL and is rooted, s-off, and supercid. Hboot is 2.21.

I've tried using the 4.1 RUU to no avail. No 4.1 ROM.zip will install either. The 4.2 RUU works fine. So I'm assuming I need to downgrade my Hboot to 2.0 prior to the 4.1 RUU or zip working? Can anyone confirm or deny this and hook me up with Hboot 2.0 if so? Thanks.

I seem to remember seeing something about supercid causing some sort of issue but I'm sorry I don't remember exactly what it is. I do believe that it has something to do with the RUU. Perhaps changing the cid may help. I also know that you have to have the stock recovery to apply OTA updates, so maybe that may have something to do with it. And also maybe relocking the bootloader? Just remember that these are all guesses. I hope it can be some help anyway. Good luck

Thanks for the reply knoober.

I have indeed tried changed my CID back to stock which still didn't work.

I don't recall if I tried reverting back to the stock recovery though, and I know for sure I haven't tried both stock CID and recovery at the same time. So I'll try that next.

I was also under the impression that because I'm s-off that relocking the bootloader is unnecessary?

Well I can tell you this for sure, with a custom recovery you cannot update with OTA's. Here's what I am not sure about... Whether or not the bootloader needs to be locked and whether the custom recovery part has any effect on RUU. I am pretty sure that when I ran the RUU, that I went back to stock recovery, but that was because I was going to return the phone and wanted to look like I wasn't screwing with the firmware (I ended up not returning it because the RUU fixed my issue.)
You may be right about your hboot version being the problem though. I would be curious to know if you ever get back to 4.1.2, but as I said my brains are squeezed and that is all I know for today. Good luck

Tried running the RUU with stock recovery and stock CID (SPCS_003). Still no go. The error I get is 155 which the readme says is an image error, meaning its the "wrong" RUU. So it seems that something is still not passing the RUU version checks.

Does anyone have a decrypted 4.1.2 rom.zip that I could pull partitions from? Or even just a full 4.1.2 backup? Every link I try is dead.

I can't tell you if these links work or not but I assume they do. When I checked it said that "this person's box is generating too much traffic..." so if it says that just wait till later. This post has a bottom up system rebuild and should have all the files you would need. Hopefully. Good luck

too bad i came much later lol.i have access to all these supposed dead links.they arent dead persay just hidden

prolly not needed nomore but i remade the android-info text in brandons soff flash to get to 4.1.2(k2_cl model only)
based off of the ultimate list he gave me.it checks all software of this phone and includes alot of cids including supercid so you dont have to change to load.just put in sdcard on root rename to PL80IMG.zip and run it in bootloader mode and select vol up for the upgrade and let it do its thing and then reboot
