Hello kashif181 - welcome to Android Forums... thanks for joining :)

Did you root your phone, or was it someone else? It is simple to return to stock Android - you just run a program (called an RUU) from your computer, simples! :D

Where in the world are you and who was your Network Provider? I may not be able to point you to specific RUU, but should be able to point you to a generic RUU.

alternately, you can simply flash a stock rom. as D-U-R-X said, somedetails about your phones root state would help us alot.

if you can do the below, and paste the outout(x out your meid, imie) it will give as alot of info to help you :)

first download and install these drivers: revolutionary drivers (mirror)

then,download this small file:
mini-adb.zip

-unzip it,and place the unzipped folder onto the root of your C drive(not inside a folder)

-open a cmd window(with win 7,click start bubble, type "command" or "cmd" in hte search box)

-now change to your mini-adb directory(assuming you didnt chagne the name). type in the black cmd window that opened on your PC:
cd c:\mini-adb

-pull the battery in your phone for a few seconds. hold volume down, then power. hold them both until you see the white/colored writing hboot screen

-select "fastboot" from the hboot menu with the vol rocker/power button

-in your cmd window type:
fastboot devices

it should output your phones serial number. if so youre good to go. if not, youre apparently having a driver issue. i usually recomend these drivers from Revolutionary: modified htc drivers download and install the drivers(you should just have to run that file). afterwards, unplug your phone, plug it back in. make sure its in fastboot. as soon as you get a result from "fastboot devices" your ready to procede to the next step.

-in your cmd window, type(or copy/paste,is much easier):
fastboot getvar all

-copy the info that outputs here. right click in your cmd window, click mark, highlight it all in white. hit enter. paste the info here. it will help us know which ruu for you to run. :)

Thanks for your reply

excellent! the 2 things marked above, make it very easy for you. you just need to download the following utility, and run on your PC as administrator if your version of windows permits that(if it doesnt, just run it). plug the phone in when instructed, make sure it has a full charge. it will restore everything to stock unbranded wwe. it will wipe your personal data,so be prepaired for that.

Shipped ROMs

this will make the phone 100% stock,so if you want to re-root in the future just holler, its a pretty easy, straightforward process :)

Thanks so much scotty85 i have done the procedure as you mention and got back my cell into default OS thank again

after you run RUU, is it still rooted or is this undone?

it depends on your definition of "rooted". if you define root access as having access to system files, then as my bro D has said, you are no longer rooted. the ruu freshened things up to an "out of the box" fctory state.

however...

you can verify in your hboot that you are still s-off. to many htc enthusiasts, being s off is being "permantly rooted" becasue the phone is not doing any security checks.

you can add a recovery and flash a superuser package at any time simply by installing it. the phone wont stop you :)

so you are still rooted in the sense, that you do not need any tools or hacks to regain access to system files,be able to run root, apps, etc.

if youd like root access on your new stock rom, just let us know... we can go into a lil more detail on the process :)
