Root Downgrade Nexus 7 using official image?

Well i was trying to restore from a backup i made using clockworkmod but it keeps saying failed to restore /System.

I was wondering if its possible to restore the whole 4.1 image (its a .tgz archive thats ~250MB) using clockworkmod.

I reckon i would have to rearchive it as a zip since CWM doesn't see the .tgz.

But is all of this even feasible?

Im sure theres command line things i can do to get the image to take i just havent came across them yet.

Or you could just flash a ROM based on the old base.

You mean a custom rom such as CM or stock?

I feel kinda dumb... all i needed was that zip file inside the tgz ^_^'

I was talking about the stock ROM, but glad you got it
