Before the GB update I recieved the updated market which was great. But after the update my market place was downgraded back to the original format. What gives?

I had the same issue. As of last Friday when the phone went back to Verizon for a replacement Inc 2 I still had the old market. That made 4 weeks with no market update. I wonder of it had something to do with the Sprint market showing up on Verizon phones.

Highly unlikely.
You should be able to just find the market apk file and install that.

Not entirely sure if that is the most current version or not.
