Root Downgrading to 2.2.1

as long as you can flash the 2.2 files i dont see there being a problem.

impossible and useless if you think it would make your phone faster your wrong the phone is optimized for 2.2 and alot of thing were optimized in andriod 2.2 which makes it faster then 2.1

Honestly, the newer Android versions are much better than their predecessors. Newer features and updated works, as well as optimization. A older version does not make it faster. (Different than OSes for Computers.)

The hardware is the problem here, there's very little you can do about that.

What's the difference? Its the same thing, instead of putting the first 2, people just use the two digit one.

2.2.2 = 2.2, 2.2.1 = 2.1.

Umm not exactly 2.2.1 is still froyo and 2.1 is eclair but like I said ealier it still obsolete would make no difference might even make the phone worst because its build for 2.2.2 end of story

No not that, he wasn't talking about the exact OS itself, he was asking why we call it 2.2.2 instead of just 2.2, sounds confusing.

One thing I DON'T know is why the heck are Androids based off of deserts? Makes me want to eat my Frozen Yogurt with Gingerbread ontop. *Stares at Ascend*
