Download from google docs?

Hi,
I am searching for a neat solution to download files from google docs to my sdCard. My very favoured solution would be some dropbox-substitute, syncing a whole folder. But an easy way to download a single file would just be enough.

Any ideas?

On my search I came across DocsPics, which isn't exactly what I was searching for, but the closest I could get.

I don't know anything about app-programming and my java knowledge is quite rudimentary, but isn't it possible to create an upload/ download-app for all filetypes in google documents?

Perhaps this can help you? I've been using Dropbox for about 2 months now. This free app is so easy to use to copy things off the phone (iPhone, iPad, Droid, other Android devices) to your computer. It is very easy to understand and so far I have linked together my Droid X, my laptop (work) and my desktop (work & personal). "Linked" mean that data in one device's Dropbox will copy to the other linked devices or computers. It's really easy to install and understand.

I know dropbox and as I wrote in my first post I am searching for a substitute. The main reasons are:

1. I am already using google docs and I don't see why I should store some of my documents at some different servers and spreading my cloud.

2. Dropbox has some serious security issues and gets in the news nearly once a year because of loosing data or being hacked.

Don't get me wrong. Lots and lots of people love dropbox for some good reasons, but in my opinion it is just because of their easy handling with a local folder being synced. So if someone would solve this for google docs than there would be no need for any android-user to use dropbox anymore.

Sorry, I didn't realize you are looking for a substitute to DB. I think the recent bad news was about the "Public Folder". I, too, am concerned about the data & info in whatever I send to DB.

Two strategies I now follow: (1) Copy what needs to get to the computer from my Droid OUT OF DB asap and then delete that info from the DB folder. (2) I don't really know the purpose of a "public folder" unless that is to share things with social networks? Since I don't do that I am not too concerned about this "public folder" and I sure won't ever use it after reading about a possible security issue when using that folder.

Google is constantly finding & creating ways to better their services and attract more customers. There's a reason why there are 250+ million shares being publically traded. With this in mind, perhaps it would be a good idea to email Google the dilemma you're up against and see if they can help you. Send them an email, whattaya got to lose?

Makes one wonder if content on Google Docs is accessible by the US Government as well? One thinks yes.
