Help Download latest firmware

About 2 days ago I came across a post from a member on this Site saying that tech support had informed them that a firmware update was available. I looked into it and it seems to have ended all my issues with my transformer. I haven't experienced a single reboot and bluetooth does not disconnect.

First you will need a SD card preferably blank or enough space for 700 megabytes

Go to:
Support.Asus.com
In the search bar to the right type in TF101
Click download below the TF101
Select android for OS
Select firmware
Scroll down to " Version V9.2.1.17(US)"
Select "Global (DLM)"
Save to SD card
With the app astro file manager extract the file from the zip (keep it on the SD card) when completed, if a ! Does not appear in the notification bar safely eject the SD card and pop it back in. It should recognize the firmware file automatically.
Finally it will do its thing

Good luck!!

Hi,

I haven't got my tablet yet (UK) but I will probably have to upgrade to ICS which I will do when I turn it on for the first time. Should I download it via wifi on the tablet setting or should I go to the asus website and download it from there (something suggested by someone on another forum but not tried it themselves)?

Days later, still without a random reboot. I did have bt cut off once in the past couple of days when it use to happen a few times daily before.

Well I had that version from the OTA update and was getting random reboots and freezes several times a day. I just tried the update from the site just to see if it makes any difference (which I doubt it will). I'll let you know how it goes.

Well it technically is the same one but after manually doing it again, ive not seen the issue since? Browsing seems snappier too...

I too have been suffering from sluggish browsing, and screen blanking when backing home. I am leery on running that firmware, as it appears as though it's not for the US TF101's! :(

There is more than one version there, for different countries/regions. Just scroll down until you find the one for the U.S.

OK, I'll bite. Friday evening I manually reinstalled 9.2.1.17 on top of the identical OTA. Only time will tell, but so far so good.

UPDATE: Well I had hopes, but this method didn't work for me. About 30 hours after the manual update I picked up my TF and it was in a boot screen freeze. Power had gone from 79% to 26% in the 7 hours between uses. Oh well.

Same here, did wake lock and installed auto airplane mode. Reckon I've had one instance of the sound issue and one or two battery drains.

Trying auto airplane mode now. Had one battery drain. It seems that if you "put" the TF101 to sleep (press the power button) vs letting it fall asleep you are less likely to have issues. Not sure thou. I hope ASUS is still working on it, either than or let us go back to HC!

On XDA they say that a test patch has been released to a select number of users

My tf101 is only a week or so old and auto updated right out of the box and I've had none of the issues i keep reading about. No screen blanking and definitely no reboots or boot loops. I just rooted it yesterday. Haven't tried out any roms yet.
It did take me all weekend to get root though. I've included a link in my Sig for anyone who may need it.

(In case the sig doesnt show or work)
