Root Download over 4G?

Well why don't you give us some details about your phone? Such as...

Is it the Boost or the Sprint model?
Have you rooted your EVO Design?
If so, what method did you use to root your EVO Design?
Have you made any other mods, or are you running any apps that alter your phone?

Due to where you are posting your issue, providing this kind of information will help people know how to best provide you with support.

This same advice applies to those of you who have responded with the same issue
 
Well mine is the boostmobile model, and its not rooted because well I haven't figured out how to root a phone already having the latest firmware on it (1.11.653.0). Not to sure where to begin with that. I don't have anything else on it that will alter the phone neither.
The problem that I'm having is that while on 4g you can't download from google play instead it will show waiting for network and it just hangs there, nothing happens but on 3g it works.
I was looking around and I came across this thread here in the HTC EVO design that says Sprint is aware of this and it supplies a temp fix but that didn't work for me. Just thought I'd share with you guys..maybe I'm doing it wrong.

boost mobile
rooted using apache thunders PH44IMG.zip after unlocking bootloader and installing CWM
no other mods.
basically, im running the stoock boost OS with root.
 
its some bug on the google play store its on the sprint forums after the newer release of the play store it screwed something up with WIMAX signal. U could do the temp fix and uninstall the updates to the play store, but once after like 15 minutes it will re updates it self.

IMO its BS i purchased the phone exactly for 4g to use when i feel like getting an app. kind of defeats the purpose of 4g when u cant use it to its fullest

I have the boost Model and i have my phone rooted with heavenly divine rebirth root method i used was with CWM

Thanks to ak47bluntz. I've only had the phone since the 25th now, but haven't even had time to root it (I'm picky with methods, and am debating whether or not to flash a rom yet). Based on your guys' responses, it looks like there's no issue caused by either rooting or using a ROM. It seems more likely that what ak47bluntz told us is the real issue. I haven't looked into those forum discussions yet, so I don't know the details.

It seems like this thread isn't highly populated with people having this issue. Maybe its possibly location related? What cities do you guys live in?

Fortunately, I haven't had this issue yet. But that's because my plan has yet to change from the standard Boost Android plan to the Boost 4G Android plan. Unfortunately, I'll soon be moving to Phoenix, where there is no 4G yet. But I'm happy to have upgraded to ICS from my Samsung Galaxy Prevail. I can actually play Angry Birds Space without lag, and am loving Chrome on my phone! Except there is sometimes an issue with zooming in, depending on the website, but that may be unrelated.

Sorry to ramble on guys :p

Here's an issue I've had, and am wondering if its just the phone, or if I need to go return my phone for a new one. I haven't dropped my phone, or even altered it yet. But, I have been having some really annoying issues with my keyboard. Some times it will disappear, but I can still type where it was (the keyboard will commonly be replaced by a copy of the visible screen above the keyboard when this happens). Something else that happens with the keyboard, and sometimes popup menus, is that the graphics interface of the entire keyboard or popup menu will glitch out, and will be displayed as either static or multiple thin diagonal lines.

I'm hoping its something that just needs a fix, or can be completely fixed by using a rom. But if I need to replace it, I need to know soon.

So I was wondering if any of you have had the same issues / glitches?
 
I just tried this today, got 1.4mb/s download with 4g (had regular data shut off to make sure i wasn't using anything but 4g) anyways. yeah i was able to download from Google Play store with ease... Now that i think of it it MIGHT have been the fact that i shut off the regular data network. Try this? :P
