When i try downloading files from the internet i get the 'starting download' message onscreen then nothing happens. No icon at top of screen and the download doesnt proceed. Can anybody please please help?

Can you download exactly the same file from exactly the same link at the same time on your computer? (You could be having incredibly bad luck, choosing bad downloads.) If you can, can you download the file if you use your phone on wifi (with data disabled)? If not it's a phone or browser problem. Download a different browser to determine which it is. if you can download it on wifi, but not on data, call your carrier - you evidently have an internet connection (your browser gets to the site with the link to the file), so why doesn't their data setup allow you to download files?

(One thought - if your data speed is REALLY slow [mine on Sprint through ST was about 75kbps on occasion], it could take a few minutes for the download to actually start, and 5 minutes or so for you to notice anything. If that were the case [I had the phone strictly for talk, so I didn't care about data speed], I'd demand a release without ETF - since the data speeds they're supplying you with are a joke, not a fulfillment of contract, in this day, and find a carrier that had reasonable speed - say at least 2-3mbps, nothing outrageous, like the 30mbps you can expect from any decent carrier.)

I have the same issue regardless of wether its through wifi or through mobile data. Ots as if my phone is just totally ignoring the command to download the file..
 
Do all the normal checks first. Do you have enough internal storage space to download the file? Have you tried to download the same file with a different browser?

If you've eliminated all the obvious possibilities, ask the carrier's nearest repair shop (or Samsung - try a Best Buy and see if they have a Samsung desk) for help.
 
Hi

You can install a different browser from Playstore on your phone or via the google page on your PC. There are many - Chrome, Dolphin, Boat, Firefox - my favourite is Naked Browser (not what it sounds like!). You then have a choice of which to use.

Hi there can someone please help me have a problem downloading films on to my phone I have sky go and every time I try to download on to my phone I cant im able to go on to sky go and I can watch the movies ect ect but not download do I need to install anything its driving me mad please can you help me with this problem thankyou
