Help download unsuccessful

PLEASE HELP
now i have an unrooted moment and lately everytime i try to update or install an app it says starting download for like 2 or 3 seconds then says download unsuccessful. ive taken it to the sprint store, because i also wasnt receiving voicemail, and they hard reset my phone. the voicemail works now but i still cant download anything from the market. ive already done the uninstall updates in manage applications > market clear cache uninstall updates before when my market was having issues it never re updated itself so i have the stock basic old market right now. i have also taken the sd card out for a bit then put it back in. would rooting my phone help the problem or is their another way? its just my phone too, my friends who have android phones their market is working just fine while mine isnt so thats why i think its just my phone.
also i can go to the android market but the downloads dont work, just for clarification.

I believe it typically downloads to the internal memory, not the SD card; you have to do something special to get it to put app data on the SD card. In other words, you may be constrained by free space on your internal memory and have to delete some existing apps.

On my Moment, even though it should technically still have enough free space to install an app, it still won't always work when you try to download/install. But deleting an existing app or two will free up enough space for it to work. So there's some amount of free space you need on top of what the app itself says it will take.

try clearing up some space.

clear as much cache as you can.

yes, rooting it will fix the problem because you will do a total data wipe, and then install a fresh ROM and somewhere through the process, whatever the issue was, will get erased.

Another trick to try is to sign in with a different (and new) google account.
that was the only thing that would fix some people's problems on some of the old ROMs. that's not an issue anymore with the new ROM's we're using, but it might work for you.

Is it just the market? Or have you noticed it is a data problem all around? Like the web browser, does it work, or do pages "fail to load" ?

try clearing up some space.

clear as much cache as you can. ;)
============

Thank bro Phil!
It solved my problem after uninstall some applications.

I faced the similar problem while installing other application, after tick the Fastboot, it solve my other problems.

but this time I tried to similar trick (tick/untick fastboot) it does not solve the problem, upon completion of download the Application simply will not install until I removed some of application.
