Help Download updates by wi-fi only

Is there a setting somewhere to prevent my phone from downloading updates when I am connected to my mobile network? This could prove expensive, so I only want to download this stuff when I am at home or otherwise using a free connection.

Not that I'm aware of KathyJM. And they do come at the most inconvenient time it seems.
You can tell most apps that you dnld not to auto update. This will allow you to decide when you update. You still receive a notification that the update is available. You then have to initiate the dnld.

If you're talking about app updates, if you go to the play store, under menu, settings there is an option to download updates over WiFi only.
