I recently downloaded GroupMe and now I can't send regular text messages, but can still receive them. Do I have to change a setting or something??

I would check the settings. I personally never have used it so couldn't say for sure.
I don't see any way that GroupME could prevent you from sending regular texts. Are you going into your messaging app to send a text? Are sending to the specific person in your regular messaging app instead of the group?
Basically the GroupME app is just for sending messages back and forth between your groups, not regular texting.
