downloaded keyboards "slowing down?"

Hello!
Just wondering about keyboards "slowing down", like I downloaded the "perfect keyboard" today (great keyboard by the way) , hasn't seen much action but its already starting to slow down, like sorta lag a little after typing a string of words. I was wondering if there was an ready way to fix this or if I'm going to have to live with this minor inconvenience.
Thanks!

I suffer from the same issue but using swype. Generally it's down to my puny tablet, background apps doing "stuff", and configuration of the keyboard itself. I find moving my prediction settings to "more rapid" rather than "more accurate" helps me. As does disabling certain other options but you will have to experiment. Auto-synching apps like greader and such i set to manual sync to prevent them affecting me.
All of this helps me on Swype, but doesn't cure the problem completely. Oh! One further point, on Swype at least, having your droid on charge whilst typing can cause lag and stutter in the keyboard - this is a known issue.
Hopefully these points may help with your keyboard too.
EDIT: I've now un-installed Swype due to the afore-mentioned issues and as the recent update made it just too big(16 Mb) for my puny tablet. Now happily using TouchPal keyboard(Tablet - 6 Mb ) which is very, very nice(but I do miss Swype still)
