downloading and data usage

i have verizon and my bf gave me his old andriod phone until i can get my upgrade in november. this is my first smart phone. i only have the 2g data plan. my question is
if i am at home and connected to my wifi home network. will i incure data usage for downloading apps and playing music from i heart radio.

No, that is the nice thing about WiFi. As long as you are connected to WiFi you will not use your 2GB data.
