Downloading Apps.

Hi All,

I download alot of things from Android Market but recently I have tried downloading apps from *****.

Now I am worried after downloading things am I damaging my phone or can I get the phone effected with something.

Is it safe to download or better using Android Market?

Thanks :D

I've removed the site name you gave as the majority of people who use it do so for piracy, a subject that we do not discuss here at android forums. (Even if you're using it legitimately, I think you can understand why mentioning it as a source of apps would be a bad idea).

But in answer to your question, yes, the large majority of malicious apps that are found on android come from shady sources of pirated apps. There have been a few cases of malicious apps in the google marketplace, but it is still the safer option by far.

Downloading shady Apps from shady sites is just not worth it. Risking all your personal information and damage to your phone.

Ok Thanks.

Just I find buying things from Android Market a pain and useless.
You cant buy a top up card like Apple Its a case of must use your Credit Card which I find rubbish.

You could always buy a prepaid credit card, removing the old and entering the new on google checkout every time. I've never used one my self, but I imagine it wouldn't be too different to buying apple vouchers.

I use a debit card for 'net purchases - it never has more than a couple of hundred bucks in it except for occasional specific purchases when I'll put the money in then spend it immediately..
