downloading zip files

on the forum i use, there was a link to a zip file but phone keeps saying download failed. im on the latest marshmallow. is there a way of downloading zip files to android phone (moto g 2015) in this example.

Downloading and opening files are different things. If you can't download the file (not a problem opening the file), it likely isn't the phones fault. Trying a different browser might help though.

If you want to open a ZIP file on an Android device, you will need an app for that, like AndroZIP or B1

im using chrome browser currently. I'll try another browser and see if it works.
