Help Dragon Touch x10 and Square Reader

Hi all,

Just a simple question:

Is the Dragon Touch x10 tablet compatible with the square reader contactless + chip reader hardware? I've installed the square app successfully but I am not having luck pairing up the device to the tablet to receive payments.

I've looked everywhere I can think of to see if this is compatible with square readers but have so far come up empty.

A cheap Chinese tablet from an unknown manufacturer. Possibly it just isn't compatible and/or approved with the credit card reader. What version of Android is on the Dragon Touch, and is it rooted?

It is running version 5.1.1.

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with the term rooted. What does that mean exactly?

I'm assuming it's just not compatible.
