Draining Battery on S3 after update

TracyReb

Lurker
Been having issues with charging battery life after Jellybean update at the weekend, had on charge all night last night and only showed 89% this morning. Never had this issue before the update. Battery usage is not great either having to charge it more often since this. Can anyone give me some ideas on how to fix it? Thanks

Probably fast charge is disabled, also have you tried a reboot,

Welcome to the forums Tracy!, glad to have you aboard :)

I would try a hard battery reboot by removing the battery reinserting and restarting the device.

Hope this helps and thanks for joining :D

I don't know if this will work for the S3 but I am doing this on my S2.

Try recalibrating your battery manually.

1.) Drain your battery up to 0%.
2.) Charge it up to 100% without booting it.
3.) Once fully charged, remove battery for about 2 to 3 mins.
4.) Take that time to clean the place where you put your battery(you can skip this step)
5.) Put the battery back and reboot.

Hi Don B,

Tried the reboot, does not seem to have made a difference, can't see an option on Settings for Fast Charge on the S3.

Do you have any other suggestions for me please :-)

Hi there,

Just to also advise its only a month old, worked perfectly well before the update and now having the problems.

I shall try taking battery out etc and see if this will help.

Thanks
