Draining Battery

[Android Question]

my android battery keeps battery draining and doesn't last. It has almost turned to a Blackberry cos i have to keep it charged at the office.(the power in my country is epileptic.) The funny thing is even while its not connected to a charging point. i can literally see the battery draining just by looking at it. Keep it on the table come back in 5mins and a substantial amount of battery life gone. BUT... if i put off my data connection. it lasts all day.
please help

You might want to check the battery stats in Settings .. Battery, see if that helps identify what's using all the juice.

Could be a poorly coded app you can uninstall.

Sounds like you may have a poor 3G signal - that would mean the radio is constantly searching for a connection. Sadly, there's not much you can do about that, other than switch to a network with a better signal in your area.

You might want to keep data or 3G off until you require it.

One other possibility: if the battery problems have developed gradually over time, it might be a dying battery. That gets more likely as the phone gets over 2 years old.
