Help Drawing in Text Message

Lurker
Hi All - I got my Galaxy Note 3 a couple of weeks ago and absolutely love it. When I first got it, I drew a picture straight out of the stock text message app. The picture had a grey background and I was able to use different pen colors. I did this a couple of times. It was not out of the S Note app, but rather straight from the text messaging app. This was the main reason I kept this app as my default text messaging rather than switching to the app I had previously been using for texting (Handsent). Now the only option I have is to draw a black and white picture with a very thin pen. I really miss this function that I used a few times and can't figure out what happened. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you updated your phone software recently?

No - I have not recently updated my phone software. I am really driving myself crazy trying to figure out how I had previously drawn the text messages. I can draw through S note, but it is definitely not the same as what I was doing. If anyone understands what I am talking about and can help me I would really appreciate it!:)

Is this it?
