Dreaded "White Android" Screen

A buddy of mine has a Droid and he showed me something that baffled the hell out of me.

He told me that he couldn't access his voicemail. I told him to press and hold 1 or dial *VM and he could do it. He then told me to do what I said and so I took his Droid and did it.

It went to this screen with a white android with red eyes. This android isn't the cartoon android, it's like this one but white

Anyone else encounter this??

There has been tales of apps in the markets concealing malware. One of the most recent was a calculator that installed an app that was making weird screens like that after phone calls and preventing *228 updates. Removing the offesive app should fix the problem if thats what it is...

+1 I am trying to find one of the threads that talked about it.

Edit 1: Oops...beat me to it!

Edit 2: "Calculation display calculators" was found to cause it.

Sounds pretty likey to be the cause, yeah? Maybe not that app in particular but it just goes to show.... never know what your gonna find
