Root Driver and adp issue with twrp and kindle fire hd 7

44joeg

Lurker
I recently rooted my kindle fire hd 7, the adp connection to my kindle was working, and so were all the drivers. Then I decided i wanted to flash CM 10.1 onto the device so i flashed twrp using fire flash. i was running 7.4.6 so i selected the option to install the 2nd booloader. Now the kindle is stuck in a boot loop, always loading to twrp...apparently this can be fixed, there's an issue that needs to be fixed using an adp command. However, now when I connect the kindle to my pc (running windows 7) it doesn't recognize the device and says there are no drivers installed...plus there is no adp connection. So there's no way for me to flash a new os (CM10.1) and load it using twrp, and I can't fix the problem with twrp because the adp connection and drivers won't work. Also there's no way for me to access the sdcard on my device because of the missing/not working drivers. Also I have not tried to use the factory cable to flash a new amazon os onto the device using fast boot, and I would prefer not to have to resort to this. If there is anyway to fix the driver/adp issue then continue with my installation of CM10.1 and fix the boot loop issue please let me know.

Update

So I've figured out what I need to do to fix the problem, but need advice on how to do it. I need to transfer the zip withe the cm10.1 software to my kindle by either getting the ado connection to work or access to the sd card...from what I can tell it appears to be a driver issue. I haven't tried anything like this before so if someone could tell me how to get an adp connection or access to the sd card that would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, 44joeg, and welcome to Android Forums. We're glad you're here. :)

Let's see if other members with your same device have any suggestions; moving to Kindle Fire HD - All Things Root board.

i need some info before we get that badboy running. which twrp did you try and flash ? which bootloader did you try and flash ? before you began the process was adb on ? from the menu>security>enable adb ? which drivers did you install ? do you have java SE installed ?

after reading the following this youtube video and the links here
downloading kfhd7-freedom-boot-7.4.6 and kfhd7-u-boot-prod-7.2.3.
I have all the files and versions matching, at least by the look of it. Is there a way to gain access via usb and copy the rom and unbrick this device (get this "bad boy" out of orange bootloop). I'm thinking the problem might have been not reverting back from 7.4.6 to 7.2.3? but the guy is doing exatcly the same thing ...
I appreciate any help.
