Ok so I'm sure everyone has seen the upcoming Droid X...

A lot more pics and info in this thread - http://androidforums.com/motorola-shadow/85827-official-motorola-shadow-pre-release-thread.html

I just wanted to put up a poll to see how many original Droid owners are going to upgrade to this phone. This is the first phone that has me thinking about an upgrade from my current Droid. I do have an upgrade to get it for the discounted price but there are a couple things that I'm not sure about:
1) MotoBlur? It definitely needs to be greatly improved (which it looks like it is aesthetically so far, but only time will tell)
2) It may have a locked bootloader making rooting and putting custom ROM's on it very difficult if not impossible
Other than that, this 4.3 inch monster looks amazing, but I am definitely not going to preorder it as I still love my Droid 1 and I need to see how MotoBlur is before I make the decision. What are you guys thinking?

I choose poll option #4

"why the hell would I want a phone with no physical keyboard? That is why I bought the droid!"

I will be waiting for that 2ghz model that was promised by years end. We will see if it ever comes to be and I don't want any android device that doesn't come stock vanilla.

yea... that was a big reason I got the droid also, but with a 4.3 inch screen its definitely easier to type on, as confirmed by the EVO

Touch screen keyboards just plain hate me. I have yet to find one with any sort of accuracy, and I have tried a ton of them.

The Droid2 is supposed to be just an updated version of the Droid... I'll be waiting for that one to come out so I can take a peek.

its has motoblur on it

thats the only reason for ANYONE not to get this phone.

so sad motorola is switching to motoblur

I'll be sticking with my Droid (1) because...

1. I love the thing! This being the case...

2. My contract will not be up until Fall 2011...I would buy something full price sooner, but see #1

3. My contract will be up around the time LTE is making penetration and there will be several very new and very fast phones by then.

4. 2.2 essentially gave me everything I want in a phone (except a larger screen). Flash is great, and I'm beta testing a certain app that makes my phone complete (can't say which, NDA) and it will release soon.

If I would have been in the market for a new phone, I would definitely Check out the Droid2/DroidX. I wouldn't consider the Evo because I refuse to leave VZW (even though Sprint's coverage in my area isn't half bad). I WOULD NEVER consider AT&T or T-Mobile though, as their coverage is straight up horrible in my area...

It has "NinjaBlur", which according to Motorola... has Motorblur in it, but you can't tell.
