my first question is....is there anything i can do to make my battery last longer other than dim the display...taskkiller

also does the handcent/sms pop up really waste your battery or does it not make a difference?

First of all the battery isn't that amazing on the D2. If you are a heavy user get the extended battery from Verizon. I have it and it is great. It comes with another battery door but only adds like a mm of thickness to the phone.

As for apps to help battery. Do not use taskkiller. Killing apps causes more battery usage when you open the app back up. Get watchdog and it will tell you if an app starts acting up and it tells you how much percent of your apps are in idle. You want your apps in idle not off all the way.

As for handcent/sms pop up idk because I don't use those I just use the stock text message thing. If this is a cause of a lot of battery usage, you have the notification bar so you don't really need your texts to pop up. That is so iPhone-ish.

Hope this helped.
