I swear I had the thing sitting on my desk for three days and I had no idea it had a removable inset for if you had a case until I watched the video.

Do docks charge the battery? if not....then why would you need one?

Yes, they do. It's easier to just slide it in the dock than to get the charger cord in.

Anytime your phone is plugged in, and it is via the docking station, it will charge.
