Help Droid 2 Global flipping out

So ever sing the upgrade to gingerbread every now and then my phone will become possessed. Much like a previous topic I read from 2010 my droid 2 global will start flipping out:
Screen shaking, programs opening and closing, if I am in a text screen it will start typing random letters, cal app opening and wont close, wont power of have to takeout battery.
Phone is about 8 months old, not rooted (although if installing different android system will help i am up for it.) Thread from 2010 finally just returned it to verizon, was hoping there was a fix by now.

Any help?

decided to install cm7, will see if that helps

Did it work? I am having the same issue. I didn't think cm7 worked for D2G..
