Droid 2 rebooting craziness

I reactivated my R2D2 D2 a last Wednesday. Tuesday, the phone rebooted on my out of the blue and I remembered why I was so happy to go back to the EnV Touch. I prayed that it was just a fluke but today it did it to me again while I was on the phone. It used to do that to me all of the time. It seemed like it would happen at the absolute worst times, too.

It often happened while I was talking to someone on the phone.

It would also happen when I was preparing to send a text or had just recieved one.

I think the random times it would reboot were exactly that but the timing was funny because it would be asleep and then reboot itself. Of course it makes the R2D2 sounds when it boots which made for awkward situations during meetings (of course R2 can't be quiet, it even blasts its little beep/chirp bootup sound if you have headphones on!) There is no trying to be a discrete nerd with this bad boy.

I uninstalled all of my launchers and everything remotely cool. I wiped it clean. It still did it. I did at least 4 factory resets. Today the VZW folks told me to clear the cache from my browser. I am not sure how this would help but I've done it anyway. It's too early to tell if it worked. Does anyone know why this would help at all or have any ideas of other troubleshooting steps I can take?

I am by no means an expert, but maybe it could have something to do with content on your SD card? Have you tried moving only your important files off of it and format the SD card? Or wiping the thing completely?

Otherwise, maybe a SBF is in order (assuming factory wipe was only done from the handset, not on the computer).

My phone has been resetting itself a lot lately (D2G) but I haven't the heart/time to wipe it clean and start anew.

I hope this helps!
