Root Droid 3, CM9, GPS

I've had this problem for a while with my droid 3. When I use my gps it takes a while to "find my position," it often loses the signal while driving and sometimes it says I'm going in a direction I'm not and fixes itself after a little bit of driving which can be quite annoying when I know a turn is coming up soon and I don't really have a hand free to check what road it is.

I'm using CM9 currently but I had this problem with other roms so I don't think that's the issue.

Is anyone else experiencing this? I miss having the awesomeness of my og droid's gps, that thing was spot on. If you have been experiencing this, have you found a fix or are you just biting your tongue and dealing with it.

I've never had an issue with the GPS on my D3 when it was stock. I haven't been on any trips really requiring much use of the GPS since I flashed Steel Droid. Do it give you more issues in urban areas where there are many roads tightly packed together or rural areas as well?

I've been using Liberty v2.0 for a very long time now and have used the GPS a lot with no issues.

Do you have some sort of cover or clear shield on your phone? I ask because on my previous phone, a Palm Pre, the GPS had trouble when I had a clear screen protector on it. Once I removed that from the front and back plates GPS worked fine. That said, I have a similar protector on my D3 and a snap on case and have no issues with the GPS.

I have this exact same problem. Had it with Liberty Rom and I now have it with CM9. It happens every time I try to use the GPS.

I have the same problem ,but I am on steel droid..it hapened with libertyrom as well. You have to exit navigation and start over for it to work
