Droid 3 + Tethering = Success

Just wanted to pass the info along that easytether works with the droid 3, just confirmed it a few minutes ago. I just installed the latest USB driver so easytether could connect after enabling usb debugging and it works.

It would be nice if USB tether worked with Android tablets, since that is the only thing I carry around anymore. My M11X is semi-retired now and the only PC device I would travel with.

Im using my work PC running windows XP, i purchased easytether pro before they took it off the market, and when i go to the market, then my apps under settings. You can still see easytether pro, it won't download it through the market if your using 3G, but if you connect to Wifi it will download. I have also had success the putting a copy of the .apk on the root of my sd card and installing it from there. You can find the .apk for that floating around on the web if you look, but i was just using it at lunch and it worked fine.

Anyone have experience using a mac? I can't get it to work. I download the computer side and the phone side software, but can't seem to tether.

Tethering widget is working flawlessly for me! Just install it, put on home screen, then flick it for usb or Wi-Fi tethering!

works flawlessly WITH a subscription to Verizon Tethering and/or Mobile Hotspot? Or you have it working w/o a subscription?

I tried tethering widget and got the verizon DUN URL taking over anywhere I tried to surf: https://dunsp.vzw.com/

What kind of Mac do you have? PDAnet will support the newer Intel Macs but if you have an older PPC (like I do) then you'll have to go another route. I actually did some research into this way back when I just got my DX. Here's the link with info on what I found and how I got it to work:

Take a look at post #11 for specifics, also post #12 has info about a different tethering app. Also please note that this is for a Droid X, but it may also work for the D3...Hope this helps!:D
