Droid 4, Razr, Spectrum???

So I bought the D4 last weekend and like most everything about it, especially the real keyboard, however the screen on it is so so piss poor. It ghosts terribly even in the app drawer, and on web pages if your scrolling really fast.

I went back to the VZW store and was playing around with the Razr and Spec and the colors on the Spec. KILLED both the Razr and the D4 in terms of colors, brightness and overall look. Im coming from an LG Ally which was a very tough, reliable phone so I am kind of partial towards LG. Ive been reading thru u guys' reviews, and I found how at first(early in the forum posts) most people didnt like it and now it seems the other way around. It sounds like the Spec will be getting ICS which is a plus. What about the development aspect of it? I mean are there alot of dev's who are working on this phone? I like how there is a custom recovery as the D4 is lacking one...Kindve torn on what to do here and I only have 3 more days until my 14day exchange period is over. So long story longer LOL What do you guys think is a better phone btwn. the D4, Razr and Spec? Thanks

I agree with you about the Razr and Droid 4 screens. I can't believe they're charging $300 for the Razr Maxx with that screen. Honestly, I won't touch the Razr/Maxx, Bionic, D4 because of their screens. I'm trying to decide between Spectrum, Rezound and the Lucid... I love the smaller form factor, and even the lower resolution screen on that is better than that of the previous mentioned screens. Still may jump on the Spectrum or Rezound with their nice displays, despite the heft.

I personally got a spectrum because of the screen size. I have noticed that the signal isn't nearly as solid as on the RAZR . It's better than the nexus though.

There is currently one ROM for this phone, and I don't know if more are to come.

I have owned the Spectrum for about three weeks and love it.

If you have no interest in using custom roms then it might be a toss up with the Razr Maxx based on its better battery and its better stock program. It is more $$$$ however.

On the other hand, if you dont mind rooting your phone and installing the Broken Out Spectrum rom which takes out all the bloatware, etc or freezing the bloatware yourself - than the Spectrum is far better based on the screen and processor specs alone.

Just my $0.02

I just traded a razr maxx for a spectrum and while the battery life is awesome on the maxx that's about it. There are devs working on spectrum stuff and the screen looks beautiful.

I've bee a droid user since the d1 came out but I went with the spectrum because of the speed and screen size. The physical keyboard used to be a dealbreaker for me, but I use swiftkey, so I don't notice not having a physical keyboard anymore. My wife has a razr, but it's not an hd screen... And it shows with netflix.

I myself went form the Ally to the Spectrum. I love the phone and have from day 1. I passed rezound and iphone for it. 1 current ROM with another supposedly in the works, eclipse i think or a version of it. Broken Out Rom is excellent, debloated to the point where i found myself downloading a couple apps that were removed. The lack of a physical keyboard worried me, but was a very easy tranisition and has gotten better since i downloaded swiftkey.

I have to say the default LG Keyboard is not that bad! And if you are used to Swype, and I am, I can be pretty fast with the thing. I need to download SwiftKey X. Thanks for the reminder.

So I took the D4 back to VZW today and after playing around the Spec I am way glad I did. You would think a phone like this would be getting more attention from not VZW but LG as well, it seemed like VZW is trying to push the Lucid more than the Spec?? I don't get it. I wonder how much more Motorola is paying VZW compared to LG to get the Razrs hyped as much as they are.

Hollywoods:Not sure if your Ally was rooted and what method you used, but DAMN rooting the Spec. was so freaking painless compared to the Ally! Thanks for the people who came up with this method :)

The Ally was not rooted, i didnt really get into this untill the end of my Ally. So I was 2.2.2 and the process scared the shit out of me, lmao. The spectrum was soooooooo simple though, i would say easier than jailbreaking my Ipod. I still plan on going back and rooting my Ally though, just for the experience and to play around a little. I am soooooooo glad I didnt go with the iphone though, my g/f has one and all she does is bitch about the stupid thing.
