Droid: Any word on the resolution of the video camera?

I have a Flip HD which is a great single-use device, but I would happily hand that down to my kids if the Droid shot at least 720p. Any word yet on the video quality? Given how cheap it is to do 720P (a lot of point-and-shoot cameras have it now), I am hoping the Droid follows this trend.

Hey. The Droid is 480p (720x480 at 24fps). Its not a real camcorder so its optics are no where near good enough for 720p (1280x720 at 24fps). If it was 720p capable, the graininess and performance in low light would make it unusable.

According to Engadget, the resolution is 720x480. I know that I would need an unlimited data plan or I would be in trouble for overages if that is true.

Ah, so not HD, but you are right about not being able to take full advantage of it anyway.

3devious, do you mean because of uploading the video you take?
