Droid Charge - New owner - initial thoughts

Well, I picked up the Charge to beat the July 7 deadline. I had the Fascinate and hated it. The fascinate GPS does not work and the call quality was awful. So I was reluctant to pick up the charge, but wanted to lock into a 4g plan so only had 3 choices and felt it was the best of the 3.

So far, I'm pretty happy with the phone. Good battery life. OK call quality and GPS works (though GPS is weaker then it should be).

Major downsides, the phone is to big and would like a higher resolution screen.

Too big, did you not test it out in the store before you bought it???
As for the screen, I believe the only thing better is qhd so not too bad there. Hopefully it will grow on you, it's a great phone.

Yes, I knew the size before I bought it. Its a compromise as there is no perfect phone. All of the 4g phones are to big.

I would like to see an android phone with a resolution on par with the iphone.

The 4.3" screen is nice if the bezel all around could be shrunk, otherwise, they should stick to 4" screens.

As I said above though, its a good phone and am pretty happy with it.

If the Charge had the higher resolution qHD screen like the droid X2 does, it would most likely be a pentile LCD screen which is terrible quality. The current OLED screen on the Charge is the best screen of any phone out right now, even with the lesser resolution than the iPhone. It's not even possible right now for them to make a higher resolution OLED screen and part of why the screen is 4.3" and not 4".
