Droid DNA vs. Galaxy S3 vs. Note 2

I need help deciding which phone to get. I'm adding a new line of service to my account, and I'll be taking the new phone... currently have an iPhone 4.

I like the size of the Note 2, but it's the most expensive of the bunch. Seems like it would be perfect for watching Hulu and Netflix on the go.

I like the Galaxy S3, because it seems to be just a cheaper alternative to the Note 2. Unfortunately, money is a bit of an issue. However, the phone does seem a bit out-dated... IIRC, the Galaxy S4 is about to come out exclusively for T-Mo.

And the Droid DNA, same price on Verizon as the S3, but only $49 on Amazon Wireless, which is a huge plus. It also seems to be the most powerful of the phones as well, and has a nice HD screen. However... from what I've read, you can't use SD cards with it and you can't remove the battery.

So... yeah. Not sure what to get exactly. I did have my sights set on the Note 2, but the Droid DNA is a newer phone, and much much cheaper on Amazon Wireless.

The S3 will still run anything you throw at it as much as the S4 does. It's not exactly outdated. Its not top of the line anymore sure, but its not oudated. That's like saying all the i3 and i5 running laptops are outdated because there are i7 running laptops around. Something is outdated if it can't run the most popular programs anymore. Something being newer isn't relevant whether on one thing is better or not.

The DNA is a nice phone, however battery life and storage are things you have to put up with, compared to the Note 2. The Note is IMO the best phone of the bunch.

I've compared the S3 to the DNA in this forum before. It's a tough call and it will be very dependent on if you like Sense or Touchwiz better. Features wise, I think the S3 offers more and better functionality. And the fact that you can get it in different colors, different storage amounts, the expandable storage and a removable battery all adds to the S3's case.

On the other hand, the DNA has a better screen (which in all honesty is barely noticeable unless you put the two devices next to each other). And from my experience, the DNA has amazing battery life. I don't know how they do it, but it's noticeably better than the S3 and you should easily make it through a full day with moderate to heavy use. The cameras are comparable, but I would give the nod to the DNA over the S3 for basic shots. And the DNA gets the best signal in my area. So there are plenty of reasons to go for the DNA. But the problem with the DNA is the lack of support of games on it's big, HD screen. It's pretty annoying not being able to play many EA games. Also, while the red accents are nice, if you plan on putting the phone in any type of case, it will just look like a big, black brick. It doesn't have much character in my opinion.

Lastly, if you're worried about outdated devices, I think the development community will keep the S3 going much, much longer than the DNA...

It sounds like price is you're number one consideration, followed by specs/features. Based on that, I'd say go with the DNA. Any new phone (S4, DNA Plus are two rumors for VZW) is going to cost a lot more. I'm pleased with everything on my DNA, with the exception of storage space. (even the battery life is fine). Signal is fantastic, the phone is smooth and quick, and the screen is awesome. Of course I may be biased just a little ;)

Eh, I ended up going with the Note 2. Had it shipped yesterday... was hoping it might arrive in New York today, but went from MD to TN overnight. Impatiently waiting until Monday night after work seems like forever.
