Droid eris calendar crashing

Tim0thy

Lurker
I couldnt find any information on this, but if this is a redundant post i apologize.

I love my eris, but the calendar app had suddenly started crashing constantly. It is at times unusable. It will crash when im using it and when i am not. Ive had the phone for a week or so and this just started yesterday. Error reads "The process com.htc.calendar has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem but I have yet to discover a solution. I was thinking of removing some old appointments to see if that helps, I will let you know.

I am having the same issue, "The process com.htc.calendar has stopped unexpectedly."

I am in the Google (calendar and gmail) world.
I have 14 calendars (that came from two happy years worth of iCal use).
I have events that reoccur weekly and yearly.
I have a MacBook OS 10.4.11.
I have an Verizon Eris.
Both the HTC and Android shortcut/widgets cause the crash.
The crash seems to occur when the phone attempts to sync.
Events don't sync.

Calendar is such a basic function, why would it be so unstable...
Someone please help us solve this issue.

I have a Droid Eris, and was having the exact same problem as described previous. Kept getting com.htc.calender crash notices, and was not seeing new data from other calenders.

Here is what fixed the problem for me:

1. Go to Settings -> Data Synchronization -> Google and uncheck Calender

2. Go to Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications and find
com.android.providers.calender & Calender, go into both and clear the data.

3. Go back to Data Synchronization settings and check Calender again.

It should sync this time without crashing, and you should see all of your calenders with complete data.

Hope this helps
