Droid Eris Help

Hello Everyone - new to the forums but have followed them for years! Thanks for all the help.

I recently revived my Droid Eris and was able to bypass the verizon activation and get it set up on Wifi - however, now I cant download any apps. The Market has a server error, amazon appstore downloads but then has a parse error when installing and getjar installed but has a server error when downloading any apps.

All I want to use this for is to listen to music at work on my blue tooth speaker. I only need Pandora and/or iHeartRadio.

Someone - Please help! I'm pretty tech savvy but have never tried to root an android phone. I think I could do it if I had step by step instructions of exactly what to do or if there is some other way to get this installed I'll do it!

You said you were able to connect to wifi with no issues correct?
Can you browse other websites with no problems?
Is it just downloads that are the issue?
What market error do you get?
Worse case scenario is do a factory reset

Yes I can connect to Wifi and browse the internet. The market error i get is
"A server error has occurred. Retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen"

factor reset work - i thought it was a problem with skipping activation. Such an easy fix.
