I know all about the poor speakers. I'm on Dinc#4 for that very reason.

Get a hearing aid and you wont have to blast the speaker
. I have had no problems with my speaker on my Dinc. To shadow keep telling yourself that.

You know.. it strikes me very odd I've had speaker problems. I NEVER play tunes through the speaker (bt always) and yet they turned to snap, crackle, and pop in no time. I do keep my volume turned up but good grief.. all I'm getting is notifications. Well.. one of the refurbs was DOA so actually I've only blown two speakers. The first Dinc lasted months.. the second only a couple of months. The unit I'm using now is perfect after a couple of months. Perhaps it's just the luck of the draw.. and I have no luck.
