Droid Incredible still worth it?

Sorry, this was supposed to go in the Verizon forum, not introductions (stupid dumb phone) So my contract with ATT is finally up and I will switching to Verizon. I will probably be picking up a Droid X, but my g/f wants a Droid Incredible. I keep telling her it is an older phone, but want to know is it still a phone worth picking up over a Droid X? I figure as OS updates come out they might be a little slower or not do them at all for the Incredible. Am I wrong or do I have a valid point?
 
To me it comes down to three Android phones if you're going Verizon. The Incredible, Droid X and the Fascinate. You have to see which size fits your hand or lifestyle best. I think the Fascinate is right in the middle, but the Incredible is very light and looks cool. I have the Droid X and wouldn't trade it for anything else, but I realize the 4.3" footprint isn't for everyone. The Incredible is still an awesome phone and it's HTC which means you will probably see firmware updates faster than the Motorola gets them.
 
Droid X and Incredible both have 1GHz CPUs. I think the Incredible's isn't as fast as the X's and it might not last as long on a battery. However, I'm not an expert on them. I do have an Incredible under the treee for my daughter because she has been wanting to trade her Droid in for one.

The best known shortcoming of the Droid Incredible is it's short battery life. To mitigate that, however, simply requires some adjustment to the phone and the addition of an extended battery. It's still, however, a good phone!
 
Thanks for the advice guys. I'm just concerned that because the Incredible is and older phone (I believe that I read it will go EOL in March) that is may not get updates like Gingerbread. I know there are ROMs out there, but considering I havent owned an Android based phone yet, I dont know how easy it is to do something like that.
