Droid Maxx 4.4 Kit Kat Bugs

I had a few similar BT issues after the update. It was fixed by reestablishing the pairings for all of the devices. Give that a try.
I've actually been trying that. My Motorola headset and Bose speaker seem to be working more or less correctly, but my home phone and car adapter are still refusing to connect automatically.

The only bug i have noticed so far that is driving me crazy has to do with NOVA and the home button. I have always had it it set up so when i hit the home button it pulls up my app drawer. Since the update, if I am on the home screen and hit the home button the app drawer will pop up and immediately go away. it is very frustrating. I have toyed with most of the settings I know of. Im hoping I am missing something obvious here. Any ideas?

It's a known bug, I had to disable that feature.

It's not just Nova - any launcher will see a single tap of the home key as a double tap.

We know that Android is up to 4.4.2. The Moto X in Europe will launch with that version. I hope that the US Moto X will get that update soon. If the past is any indication, that would mean the Droids would be about 4-6 weeks behind that first X update. We'll see, though - this is an annoying bug.

So I have also had some bluetooth issues. Re-paired to my LG soundbar and that went fine but audio quality seems to have been downgraded with the low energy bluetooth. One strange thing that has happened though when activating bt. in my jeep is that it plays in slow motion.(This is not believed to be a kit kat issue as I think it has happened before the update) Droid razr never had this problem.

I found a better way, just use the regular messaging app. Hangouts sucks. You can send contact cards and no counter. I see zero advantage of using it. If I wanna video call somebody I'll open it up but otherwise......

Only for home screens ... look in Gestures and Buttons ... I have swipe down two fingers set to open App Drawer.

... Thom

The very top of that menu is "home key." You can set it to whatever you want. Is that not what you guys are talking about with home key behavior?

Am I the only one who actually likes hangouts? Ha!

No, I've been using for SMS now for a few weeks. There are things about it I like more. It surely handles MMS conversations better than the old, stock messaging client.

I was resistant to it, but I like the animations. The video call thing is pretty slick too but I've rarely used it.

Yes but with KitKat you get some very odd behavior when you have the home key set to open the app drawer. It will flash up and go away quickly. Very frustrating. It sounds like it is a problem with KitKat, not NOVA though.

Yes, it's a known bug with the home key in KitKat, for everybody with the Maxx (and I presume the Ultra and Mini). If you have Nova or Nova Prime you really need to set the home key action to none and then, as Thom said, set a gesture for opening the app drawer (if you have Nova Prime) or just put an icon for the app drawer in the dock or a home screen.

Oh I'm sorry, I was misunderstanding you.

I have my home key set in Nova to go to the default screen like it used to in 4.2.2. Then I have single swipe up to open the app drawer. Double tap hides the top navigation bar.

Love Nova :D

I hadn't really used it much, other than the vid feature with a few people (and my parents), but I'm giving it a tryout. So far the touchless control works well with it. btw, I love it when google says "awesome". :p

I got the update 2 days ago and the only issue I have seen is the battery life. I am planing on doing a factory reset this weekend but I really dont want to go though the hassle of setting up my phone again. Oh well that battery life is worth it.
